1. Who we are

Niken Visa Scheduler ("we", "our", "us") is a software service operated by an individual developer based in Canada. We provide a Chrome browser extension that helps users find earlier US visa appointment slots through the official AIS portal.

2. What information we collect

Information you provide:

• Email address — used to identify your licence and send payment confirmation
• Payment information — processed entirely by Stripe; we never see your card details
• Optional: Telegram Chat ID — stored locally on your device only, never sent to our server

Information collected automatically:

• Extension version number — sent with each API request for compatibility checks
• Number of date scans performed — used to manage free-tier credit limits
• IP address — logged by our server for abuse prevention and rate limiting; not stored long-term

Information we do NOT collect:

• Your AIS portal email or password — these are stored only in your local Chrome storage
• Your passport details or visa application information
• Your browsing history outside the AIS portal
• Device identifiers beyond your Chrome extension ID

3. How we use your information

• To activate and manage your Premium licence
• To send payment confirmation emails via Resend
• To prevent abuse and enforce fair usage limits
• To send you a Telegram notification when an appointment is booked (only if you provide a Chat ID)
• To respond to your support requests

4. How we store and protect your data

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure in the Toronto region. The database is not publicly accessible. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (HTTPS/TLS 1.2+).

Your AIS credentials are never transmitted to our servers. They are stored exclusively in your Chrome browser's local extension storage on your own device.

5. Third-party services

• Stripe — processes all payments. Their privacy policy applies to payment data.
• Resend — sends transactional emails. Only your email address is shared.
• Telegram — sends booking notifications. Only used if you opt in by providing a Chat ID.
• Oracle Cloud — hosts our server infrastructure in Canada.

6. Data retention

We retain your email address and licence record for as long as you have an active Premium licence. You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing us. Payment records are retained for 7 years as required by Canadian tax law.

7. Your rights (PIPEDA / GDPR)

Depending on your location, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Withdraw consent at any time
• Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

8. Cookies

Our website (this page) does not use cookies or tracking scripts. The Chrome extension does not use cookies.

9. Children's privacy

Our service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
